Catalog description

This course studies imperialism, colonialism, and decolonization in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The course employs case studies of different models of imperialism to study political, social, economic, and cultural developments in Asia, India, Africa and the Americas. The course emphasizes understanding of the experience of colonialism, the legacy of empire, and their influence on the post-colonial world. Serves as NW or EU focus for majors.
