Catalog description
This course combines concepts from paleontology, biology, and geology to explore the history of life on Earth from its beginnings with a focus on dinosaurs. In the laboratory, students apply scientific principles and methodologies to the study of animal and plant fossils, trace fossils, and fossil assemblages as we engage in a lively investigation of dinosaurs, the environments and ecosystems in which they lived, and their ancient and modern relatives. Recent discoveries and research directions in vertebrate paleontology and the dinosaurs of North Dakota and the Northern Plains region are featured. Field trips.
