Exercise Programming for Older Adults.

Catalog description
This course explores evidence-based principles and practical strategies for designing safe, effective, and engaging exercise programs for older adults. Students will examine age-related physical, cognitive, and social changes and their impact on fitness participation and performance. Emphasis is placed on conducting appropriate fitness assessments, creating individualized and group exercise prescriptions, and applying best practices in personal training and group exercise settings. Through lecture, hands-on practice, and research, students will develop the skills needed to support healthy aging, enhance functional ability, and promote quality of life in diverse older adult populations. Perquisites: ESR 226 and ESR 227 .
