Catalog description

Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering introduces core concepts and analysis techniques for AC/DC electric circuits. The course introduces passive and active components (resistor, capacitor, inductor, operational amplifier, digital gates), circuit analysis (Ohm's Law, KCL, KVL, Phasors), energy, power and three-phase systems. The theoretical concepts are reinforced through required laboratory experiments and computer simulations. Upon completion, you'll be able to apply analytical methods to solve for unknown values and characterize linear electric circuits. Prerequisite: MATH 265 . Corequisite: PHYS 252 .
