Introductory exploration of the major concepts in biochemistry. Topics covered include: protein structure and function; DNA, RNA and protein translation; enzyme reactions and regulation strategies; carbohydrates structure and metabolism; lipids structure and metabolism; the principles of cellular metabolism. Prerequisite: CHEM 240 or CHEM 341 .
