This course provides a broad introduction to the study of social problems and issues through the lens of sociology. This course introduces students to the methods and theories sociologists use to define, describe, and analyze social problems; contextualizes individuals within social institutions; reveals the influence of structural dimensions of inequality; and evaluates solutions to social problems.
