This advanced course covers the enzymatic pathways responsible for synthesis and degradation of macromolecules i.e. carbohydrate, lipid and nitrogen metabolism, and the regulation of these processes with an emphasis on metabolic diseases. The course based undergraduate research experience or CURE lab focuses on characterizing novel, unstudied proteins. C or better in 3321
