Catalog description

User Experience (UX) research is the systematic study of target users, including their goals, needs, and wants in order to create better products and services. Through hands on projects, they will develop research plans, choose appropriate research methods, conduct usability tests, and deploy and analyze surveys. Part of the class will also focus on how people can gather information without access to direct users. Projects will culminate in presentations of research findings and recommendations, similar to what would be required of a UX professional. While the course focuses on concrete research skills, students will also gain an understanding and appreciation of UX research so that they will be able to advocate for research within their organizations.
