UXD 2010
Inclusive Design
Milwaukee School of Engineering · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
This course will introduce students to two broad elements of inclusive design: accessibility and international users. Topics will include how to evaluate websites or other designs with accessibility and emerging markets in mind, cultural dimensions, the differences between translating and localizing content, writing for global users, and how to use design for social good. Throughout the course, students will have the chance to work on a number of projects to get hands-on practice applying the theories we discuss in class by doing accessibility evaluations, small coding projects, and writing a cultural analysis paper. The final project, appropriate for a portfolio, will allow students to work on designing an interface or product for a global audience.
