Catalog description

Taught in Spanish, this interdisciplinary course explores various aspects of Latin American, Caribbean, Spanish, and Latinx history, society, politics, arts, and culture. Topics will vary periodically, with a focus on a specific region or subject. Contact the instructor to learn about the topic for each semester. The course will include readings, lectures, film screenings, and discussions, drawing on multiple academic disciplines and artistic traditions. We will examine different historical periods and analyze how art, film, and literature have responded to these moments. Students will have the opportunity to refine their cultural analysis skills through a range of creative assignments.
