Catalog description

This course provides an in-depth examination of psychological disorders and mental health. The course is designed to build students’ awareness and recognition of serious mental health issues. Topics of discussion include a history of psychological disorders, treatment methods for psychological disorders, and a variety of specific psychological disorders. After taking this course, students should be capable of discussing mental health issues, demonstrate an understanding of why/how psychological disorders develop and best practices for treatment, and think critically about mental health issues they hear about every day.
