Catalog description

This course provides an overview of cognitive psychology - the study of how people perceive, learn, remember, and think. Cognitive psychology draws on fields within psychology (developmental psychology, social psychology, and clinical psychology) as well as complementary fields (computer science, linguistics, anthropology, and philosophy). Broad topics of discussion include neuroscience, perception and attention, memory, thinking, and learning. Through this course the student should gain an increased understanding of the field of cognitive psychology, an enhanced ability to think critically, and the ability to apply psychological principles to everyday life.
