Catalog description

This course explores how psychological processes and communication strategies shape health behaviors, patient-provider relationships, and public health outcomes. Students will examine how factors such as stress, personality, culture and language barriers, and cognition influence health-related decision making, and how effective communication-whether between patients and providers, within health systems, or to the general public-can promote well-being and positive health outcomes. The course emphasizes both understanding human behavior and applying evidence-based communication strategies to real-world health contexts.
