Catalog description
This course will allow students to apply their knowledge and experiences in adult health to the specialized care of older adults. It provides an opportunity to explore the health care needs and issues in gerontological nursing and how to maximize wellness and the quality of life for older adults. Gerontology is focused on the healthy aging processes and risk factors that affect the health and functioning of older adults, including legal and ethical issues. Emphasized are the nursing approaches to managing the needs and risk factors associated with aging.
