Catalog description

This course introduces modern numerical methods and their mathematical analysis with an emphasis on the theoretical foundations and practical applications of such tools. Topics include root-finding, solutions of linear systems, least squares problems, singular value decomposition, and the fast Fourier transform (FFT). Mathematical properties of these techniques are analyzed, and implementations are developed through programming to provide deeper insight into their behavior and real-world applications.
