Catalog description

This course introduces students to computer applications used for actuarial science. Students are introduced to advanced functions in Microsoft Excel and to the R programming language. Topics include problem formulation, data analysis, graphical solutions, as well as an introduction to R data structures. Applications to actuarial science are discussed. The course material is presented as a combination of lectures and hands-on exercises.
