Advanced Machine Design

Catalog description

This course examines the design and analysis of advanced machine components not typically covered in the introductory machine design course. Topics include: springs (tension/compression, Belleville, beam, torsion and torsion bar), splines, flywheels, integrated snap fasteners, flat, V and metal belts, chains, metal rope, clutches and brakes, journal bearings, and welded and adhesive joints.
