Catalog description

This course examines the conversion of mathematical models of mechanical and electromechanical systems to block diagram form suitable for simulation software. Simulation models of basic components are created and then used to build more complex dynamic system models of interacting components. Completed models are tested for validity and used to observe dynamic response, steady-state performance, and other analytical scenarios. Models are also used to understand the influence of system parameters on predicted performance. Specific areas that will be explored are mechanical system dynamics, fluid power driven systems, and vehicle drive train performance scenarios. Model development, simulations, and analyses will be completed with MATLAB and Simulink.
