Catalog description

In this course, students learn how to apply engineering methods to supply chain related problems. This is a student directed course where the interests of the participating students will influence the content and objectives of the course. Student influenced course topics may include but are not necessarily limited to: Supply chain modeling, forecasting, negotiation strategies, methods and software tools for logistics network design, capacity planning and flexibility, make-buy, integration with product development, routing problems, dynamic lot sizing inventory models, stochastic and deterministic multi-echelon inventory systems, the bullwhip effect, pricing models, and integration problems arising in supply chain management. Industry applications and cases illustrate concepts and challenges.
