Catalog description

Socio-technical Systems (STS) is a method that may be used to analyze manufacturing and service jobs, as well as entire organizations through the study of classical theories and techniques of management and organizational behavior (e.g., Frederick Taylor’s Scientific Management, Elton Mayo’s Human Relations, etc.), as well as more recent developments related to quality of working life, change management, and macro-ergonomic analysis and design process. This course includes analysis of both social and technical systems within an organization to improve the design and functionality of the entire system.
