Catalog description

This course provides a comprehensive review of the material planning and production control modules within an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This course focuses on learning strategies for managing the ongoing activities that are comprised in production systems to satisfy customer demand. Production systems require “planning and controlling” to get the most value out of our resources, reduce costs associated with the production process, and, in general, to run the production process efficiently to survive in the global market. This course emphasizes inventory control management techniques for production planning covering topics from how to coordinate the supply of material, coordinating resources and activities for conducting the production process, and finalizing with the distribution of the product. Similarly, it introduces students to work with different ERP software. It introduces students to ERP software and compares both “push” and “pull” approaches.
