Catalog description

This advanced course offers students an in-depth, experiential exploration of two selected health professions from the broader health professions curriculum. Through immersive learning alongside practicing professionals, students will gain a nuanced understanding of each profession’s responsibilities, scope of practice, and contributions to team-based care. Students will observe and participate in interprofessional collaboration, reflecting on how these professionals function within complex healthcare systems and how their work impacts patient outcomes and community well-being. Emphasis will be placed on how innovation-through technology, data, and creative problem-solving-can support meaningful change in practice. Throughout the course, students will continue to integrate the Flourishing Framework, deepening their understanding of caring, character, and practical wisdom. Through guided reflection, they will examine how these virtues shape ethical, compassionate, and effective professional identity and leadership.
