Catalog description

This course introduces students to the language of healthcare through a comprehensive, systems-based approach to medical terminology. Emphasis is placed on the analysis, construction, and accurate interpretation of medical terms by examining word roots, prefixes, suffixes, and combining forms. Students will develop the ability to deconstruct complex terminology and apply it appropriately across various body systems and clinical contexts. The course also fosters effective oral and written communication skills essential for professional interactions in healthcare environments. By the end of the course, students will be equipped to confidently navigate and use medical language in academic, clinical, and administrative settings.
