Catalog description

The honors practicum prepares high-performing individuals to be equally high-performing group members. Students will learn and practice several interpersonal skills that promote successful group collaboration. They will be introduced to processes, tools, and practices that enable them to be an asset to their school or work teams. More specifically, students in this course will learn to establish empathy, engage in purposeful conversation, ask compelling questions, engage in active and critical listening, engage in creative problem-solving activities, provide feedback and coaching to peers, and build an effective team. Students will apply these skills to their work on a two-year experiential learning project which will connect them to organizations involved with social justice work in the greater Milwaukee community.
