Catalog description

The course introduces various classes of biopolymers and nanomaterials and their applications in selected subspecialties. An understanding of material bulk and surface properties, biocompatibility, manufacturing processes, sterilization, packaging, and regulatory issues in terms of developing and engineering polymers and nanomaterials are stressed. Topics range from polymerization, nanomaterials and nanostructures, nanofabrication, bionanotechnology and nanobiotechnology, polymer and nanomaterials characterization techniques, and processes tailoring specific properties to biopolymer purification.
