Catalog description
This course provides an introduction to the engineering thermodynamics. It places emphasis on terminology of thermodynamics, first and second laws, equations of state, mass and energy balances, heat effects in batch and flow processes, entropy, entropy balances on open and closed systems, heat engines, refrigeration cycles, and two phase systems. Application areas of thermodynamics in chemical and bio engineering are addressed.
