Catalog description

This course introduces students to improvement methodologies with a focus on how artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming business operations and continuous improvement. Students will explore foundational tools such as Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA), the seven basic quality tools, and the House of Quality, alongside core principles continuous improvement, including systems thinking, standardized work, visual management, and team-based problem solving. By the end of the course, students will be prepared to design and evaluate continuous improvement methodologies using both traditional tools and AI-enhanced solutions. Applied AI Integration: This course meets or exceeds MSOE’s Applied AI Integration guidelines for sufficient coverage of Practical Application, Critical Evaluation, and Social Responsibility.
