Catalog description
This course provides a comprehensive foundation in project management aligned with the PMI® standards, drawing directly from “The PMBOK® Guide and Process Groups: A Practice Guide” . Students will explore the five key process groups-Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Controlling, and Closing-while gaining practical knowledge of project performance domains, tools, and techniques essential for managing real-world projects. In addition to traditional project management tools and techniques, this course incorporates emerging applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in project environments. Students will explore how AI-powered tools can assist with risk prediction, automated scheduling, resource optimization, and real-time reporting. Applied AI Integration: This course meets or exceeds MSOE’s Applied AI Integration guidelines for sufficient coverage of Practical Application and Critical Evaluation.
