Catalog description

This course explores the principles of operations management with a focus on workflows in both goods-producing and service-based organizations. Students will examine the full operational cycle-from suppliers to customers with an emphasis on managerial processes that drive efficiency, quality, and agility. Financial tools such as ROI and break-even analysis are integrated to support strategic planning. Students will be introduced to technology and artificial intelligence integrated topics relevant to businesses. By the end of the course, students will be able to assess, design, and optimize operational systems using traditional methods, equipping them to lead in data-informed, agile business environments. Applied AI Integration: This course meets or exceeds MSOE’s Applied AI Integration guidelines for substantial coverage of Critical Evaluation and for sufficient coverage of Foundational Knowledge and Practical Application.
