Welding Practice 1

Catalog description

The purpose of this course is to give students hands-on experience in the setup and operation of welding with the gas metal arc welding (GMAW) and gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) processes. Students will complete various lab exercises demonstrating the ability to use both processes to perform welds that meet AWS D1.3 welding code for materials under 1/8-inch in thickness. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to understand a written welding procedure, read weld symbols, properly set up welding equipment and perform welds in all positions on various light gauge materials.
