Honors Ensemble

Catalog description

The Honors Ensemble offers a selective, high-level musical experience designed for the most accomplished instrumentalists and vocalists. With guidance from the instructor, this ensemble is dedicated to choosing repertoire, arranging materials, and the study, rehearsal, and public performance of challenging, diverse genres. Members are selected through an audition process or are appointed by faculty and are expected to perform at a high level, demonstrating technical proficiency, musicianship and collaborative skills. The curriculum emphasizes intensive rehearsal techniques, sophisticated artistic interpretation and a deep engagement with historical context and performance practice. Prerequisite(s): Complete MUSIC-192.
