Catalog description

This class is the capstone course in the performance sequence, designed for highly accomplished music students preparing for public performance, auditions or professional careers. Building upon the skills developed in MUSIC-191, this class focuses on refining artistry to a professional level, specializing in program curation, developing lead sheets and charts, and creating arrangements. Students will engage in positive peer review and receive intensive supportive coaching from the instructor as they polish works in a variety of genres for performance. Students in this ensemble are expected to exhibit a high degree of musical independence, leadership and interpretive maturity. Prerequisite(s): Complete MUSIC-191.
