Music Theory 2

Catalog description

This course is the second in the music theory sequence and builds upon the fundamentals introduced in Music Theory 1. It is designed for students who can confidently read music notation, understand basic rhythm, and identify fundamental scales and triads. The primary focus of Music Theory 2 is the study of four- part writing, developing skills in fundamental to advanced harmonizing, diatonic harmony, basic modulation and an introduction to musical form. Prerequisite(s): Complete MUSIC-150 or MUSIC-149.
