Major Instrument 1 introduces students to focused applied study on their chosen instrument as a professional trade. Emphasis is placed on building familiarity, developing consistent practice habits and exploring accessible pieces. Students begin to understand the discipline of treating music as skilled work while gaining confidence in both individual study and group participation. The course lays the foundation for a career-oriented approach to performance. Study available on: bass, brass, drum, guitar, mallets, organ, piano, voice and woodwinds.
