This lecture/demonstration course studies engineering materials (metals, plastics, ceramics and composites). Topics include refining and recycling of metals, classification and uses of steels, cast irons, nonferrous alloys, plastics, material properties, phase diagrams, heat treatment, corrosion and solidification.
