Catalog description

This course provides a basis in organic chemistry needed for understanding biochemistry. Topics in biochemistry include structure and functions of carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, enzymes, and nucleic acids; protein synthesis and epigenetic controls; carbohydrate metabolism and energy production; metabolism of proteins and of lipids; relation of central metabolism to health.
