Catalog description

Sound Reinforcement provides the student with a foundation of theoretical principles and industry standard practices in live sound reinforcement, mixing for front-of-house and monitors, utilization of wireless microphone and in-ear monitor, and general audio stagecraft are introduced. Taught in one of the college’s performance auditoriums, emphasis is placed on indoor sound reinforcement applications using contemporary analog and digital mixing consoles, speaker systems, and microphones. The individual components of the sound system are explained in-detail, their best implementation planned, and then set up and used by the student in providing live sound for MATC Music program concerts.
