An introduction to modern Latin America. Particular concentration is placed on the political culture and recent democratization (or lack thereof) throughout Central America, South America, and the Caribbean. Specific countries and case studies are used to illustrate general political trends throughout the region. Offered spring term odd years. Three semester hours.
