Catalog description

An introduction to the nursing profession and the Milligan University Nursing program; includes orientation to curriculum, academic policies, and requirements to earn the BSN degree along with the skills and attitudes that support success in the nursing major. Personal reflection, class and group discussion, independent and group learning activities provide the student with an understanding of the discipline of nursing’s distinct perspective and historical development. The role of the registered nurse in the context of interdisciplinary health care practice is emphasized. Required for entering freshmen nursing majors. Meets the Introduction to College and Service general education requirement. Students who have completed MLGN 100 or an equivalent course and transfer students entering at the 200 level of the nursing curriculum are not required to take NURS 100 to meet BSN degree requirements. Offered fall term each year. Two semester hours; two clock hours.
