A study of the Early National Period of the United States from 1787 to the 1830s with attention given to the ideas and events which resulted in the emergence of the nation and the development of the frontier. Prerequisites: HIST 209 and 210 or consent of instructor. Offered fall term alternate years. Three semester hours.
