Catalog description
An exploration of the varied theological voices and traditions of the Middle Ages, defined as the millennium stretching from the sixth to the fifteenth century. It will examine the distinctive literary forms that medieval theology took and the matrices in which those forms developed. Attention will also be paid to the broader religious, social, and political contexts that shaped the form and content of medieval theology. Offered spring term alternate years. Three semester hours.
