Network Security

Catalog description

Protecting and securing a network is an integral component of cybersecurity. Network security provides in-depth discussion of complexities, challenges, and solutions that yield enhancements to operations holistically. Topics include firewall types and functionalities, remote access, cryptography, PKI (Public Key Infrastructure), threat management, cloud security, embedded operating systems, frameworks, regulations, threat intelligence, wireless security, network reconnaissance and discovery, and authentication. This course is directed toward CompTIA Security+ Certification. Open to Cybersecurity majors and minors only or permission of the instructor. Prerequisite CS 320. Offered fall term each year. Three credit hours.
