Catalog description

An introduction to foundational tools and techniques to triage, acquire, process, and report on various computer- related forensics assignments and investigations. Topics include forensic lab workflows, network forensics, mobile devices, IoT (Internet of Things), data acquisitions, e-discovery, email and social media computer forensics considerations, cloud forensics, expert witness testimony, filesystems, chains of custody, and written and automated reports. Open to Cybersecurity majors and minors only or permission of the instructor. Prerequisite CS 320. Recommended prerequisite: CS 360. Offered spring term each year. Three semester hours.
