This course offers an in-depth exploration of advanced programming techniques using Python, with a focus on Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles. This course elevates students' programming capabilities, enabling them to tackle complex problems through sophisticated algorithm design and software development practices. Students will explore advanced topics such as problem-solving strategies, algorithm optimization, and decomposing complex tasks into manageable components. The course emphasizes the practical application of OOP concepts—including encapsulation, abstraction, polymorphism, and inheritance—to develop robust, scalable, and maintainable software solutions. Additionally, students will gain proficiency in defining, utilizing abstract data types, and implementing various algorithms, all within the Python programming environment. Prerequisites: CS 297, CS 307, FENG 221, or IS 297. Offered fall term each year. Three semester hours.
