Information Assurance and Security

Catalog description

Principles of Information Security are examined as they relate to the foundational significance of the public and private sectors. A foundational emphasis will examine the codependency that exists between information security and business holistically. Topics will include confidentiality, integrity, availability, cybersecurity, legal and ethical issues, vulnerabilities, exploits, National Vulnerability Database (NVD), incident response and contingency planning, cryptography, threat management, methods of implementation, security tool sets, mitigation, risk management, and access controls. Offered spring term each year. Three semester hours.
