Practicum in Counseling

Catalog description

Introductory experience in supervised counseling with clients in selected clinical settings. Students are supervised by the course instructor and a field supervisor and receive feedback from supervisors in order to develop counseling skills. Practicum is arranged with the Clinical Director in the semester prior to beginning the practicum. A minimum of 100 clock hours of supervised experience is required. Liability insurance is required. Prerequisites: COUN 510 or COUN 555, 520, 550M, at least 9 hours completed in program, permission of instructor. Offered fall and spring terms. Three semester hours.
