Catalog description

An overview of the history, theory, and current research perspectives in the etiology, assessment, diagnosis and treatment of substance and behavioral/process addictions. Focuses on the influence substance and process addictions have on individuals, couples, families and career. In addition, the course examines the similarities and differences between chemical/substance addictions and behavioral/process addictions. Prerequisites: COUN 520. Prerequisite or corequisite: COUN 530. Offered May term each year. Three semester hours.
