Catalog description

An introductory course that examines fundamental biological concepts of plants and animals with particular relevance to man’s place in the living world. BIOL 110 cannot be applied toward the Biology major or minor. Offered spring term. Three hours lecture and one two-hour lab weekly. Four semester hours. BIOL 111-112. Principles of Biology - A two-semester course which introduces and integrates the principles of biology including the chemistry of life, cells, genetics, evolution, biological diversity, biology of plants, biology of animals, and ecology. The course is designed to stimulate critical thinking. Offered as a year sequence. BIOL 111 offered fall term each year. BIOL 112 offered spring term each year. Three hours lecture and one three-hour lab weekly. Four hours each semester.
