Catalog description

This course is designed for MBA students specializing in Operational Analytics. The course builds on foundational knowledge of quality control techniques and statistical methods to help students develop a deeper understanding of advanced quality control strategies and their application in operational analytics contexts. Through a combination of theoretical learning and hands-on practical exercises, including completion of a simulated Six Sigma Project, students will gain the skills and knowledge needed to effectively manage and enhance quality control processes within organizations leveraging operational analytics. Emphasis will be placed on data-driven decision- making, continuous improvement, and the application of quality control principles in real-world business scenarios Topics covered in the course may include: − Advanced statistical process control (SPC) techniques − Discrete and Variable Control Charts − Design of experiments (DOE) for quality improvement − Six Sigma methodologies for process optimization − Total Quality Management (TQM) principles − Repeatability and Reproducibility (GAGE R&R) tool used to ensure quality and consistency. Offered Spring II. Three semester hours.
