Content Area Literacy

Catalog description

Reading in the content areas is an undergraduate course designed to help Middle Level certification students develop an understanding of the reading process in the disciplines, especially those that use informational texts. Before, during, and after reading strategies used in reading expository materials will be the focus of this course. Teaching writing across the content areas will also be a focus. A required field experience is part of this course.
